WHEN THIS WORLD SAYS YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH

psalm-139-fearfully-wonderfully-made-scripture

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. The incredible freedom and the warm comfort that the words of Psalm 139 bring to my heart are so treasured. God reaches out to each and every one of us in that passage and gives us purpose, worth, and a love that we cannot comprehend. He makes us whole and complete. We are not here on this earth by happenstance, created with no purpose and without thoughtful detail.

"For You formed my inward parts;
 You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. .  My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
the days that were ordained for me,
when as yet there was not one of them."

| Psalm 139:13-16 |

You were handcrafted, thoughtfully designed, and uniquely knit together by God. You are wonderfully made. You are whole and beautiful. How encouraging is that! In a culture so focused on physical beauty it is easy to lose sight of what it really means to be a woman, and more importantly, a woman of God, created in His image. In Genesis 2:22 it says: "The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man..”. That is truly beautiful. God fashioned her, as He has fashioned you and I. The word used in Genesis 2:22 for the fashioning of the woman is banah. This word is used in scripture to describe the making of a temple, or forms of art. As an artist would carefully create a sculpture so too we have been carefully sculpted by God; sculpted in His image, and given tremendous worth.

So on those days when the world says you're not enough, remember, you were hand crafted with purpose and love, knit together perfectly and uniquely, by a God that loves you so deeply He gave Himself up for you; pouring Himself out on the cross, bearing the weight of your sin, and conquering death that you might live eternally with Him. He did this for us all so that we might have eternal life. He would have done it for only you. That is how much you are worth. That is how much you are loved.

I hope this encourages your heart today as it has encouraged mine. Live today to the fullest! You are loved. You are known. Have a beautiful Monday, sweet friends.
