| How did you get into blogging?

 I actually started blogging last summer, June 2013. Rad Maverix started out as a tool to keep my best friend, Candace, and I connected while she was away at college. Since then, she has started a new career and left the Rad Maverix scene, so I have been running RadMav by myself, since May. I try to find time for blogging and maintaining my work schedule—sometimes I totally suck at this!

| Tell us something we don't know about you!

 I am launching a chic tees and tank line this fall! Hopefully, by the end of August, or early September, I will have everything ready to launch! Rad Maverix Brand will provide (affordable) tees and tanks that are comfortable; yet chic & exclusive. | Where do you find creativity?

 I find creativity in the everyday hustle and bustle. Oh and I guess Pinterest is always handy to spark a few ideas. :)

| What are three things you absolutely can't live without?

 My phone, camera & my dogs. My phone, I know, so cliché. But how would I keep up with Kimye and the latest blogger must-haves, without my phone?! I invested in a (nicer) camera last summer. It’s awesome, I just need to learn how to use it like the pros. Lastly, my dogs. I seriously could not live without them. Everyone is always like, “I have the best dog(s) ever!!!! And down deep inside the rest of us are thinking “Yea, right, I  have the best dog(s) ever!”

| What's the craziest fashion trend you've ever tried?

Anytime I hear the word “trend” I can’t help but think about myself in elementary school dancing to the Spice Girls at our school talent show and wearing rocking those white PLATFORM shoes. And omg, they’re coming back in style. That is one trend I will NOT let myself fall for…again.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO BLOGGING?
When I picked up my life and moved from Seattle to North Wales to be with my husband.  At first, I started blogging to stay in touch with everyone back home.  Then over time, I found that blogging helped me to track my growth as an expat in a new country.

I am a sucker for listening to musicals, specifically Wicked, while making dinner. 

WHO INSPIRES YOU MOST?
Although a bit cliche, I have to say my darling and loving husband Neal.  He has the patience of a saint, the most generous heart and a beyond love of life.  I have to say that he inspires me to live life with a bigger heart.

Happy Hump Day my people! What gets you through the day that is the middle child of the week? Personally I like to get all dolled up and run errands. Other things that make me happy are receiving snazzy handmade accessories from some of my favorites, oh and giving away one of those über cute handmade accessories to one lucky reader! 

Samantha from Elah Tree has a fantastic Etsy Shop full of colorful wristlets, wallets, clutches + a scarf or two! Look, see, take a gander! Aren't those stinking lovely!? A pretty little package arrived in the mail with my new favorite, and quickly becoming beloved mini navy blue flowery clutch. It's a makeup bag, it's a wallet, it's a playful little clutch! It's anything you want it to be! I don't have a proper wallet and I'm always losing my credit card and cash in my purse. Among other things. It's horribly frustrating. 

Do you have this problem? What's the craziest thing you've ever found hiding at the bottom of your purse?

So! With a twinkle of delight in my eye I tucked my plastic money, paper money, a forgotten chapstick, the always lost bobby pins, eyeshadow, and an on-the-go blush brush, neatly into the perfect little catch all. I get really ecstatilated ( ecstatic + elated ) about these things. My life is so much more organized now. Thank you Samantha! Truly, Samantha does wonderful work and has so much creativity with her designs! Her sturdy, yet oh so pretty designs just put a smile on your face, and adds something truly special to the tried and true wallets, clutches, and carry-alls that we all have tucked away in our Simpson, Fossil, and Spade purses!

Hello! I hope this Monday is treating you well. I have a lovely to taking over things today and I'm seriously happy about it. Meet Ashley! Lover of makeup, fur mama, blog designer, and the voice behind The Grits Blog! She just happens to be one of my favorites as well. I fired a few questions at her and here are her answers! Get to know her a little bit and definitely stop by her blog!

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration where my life really began - Panacea. It's this magical little place where only locals go. There are dolphins, manatees, and marine life everywhere. Every time I go there this sense of peace and calmness comes over my whole body, mind, and spirit. Call it cliche - but it's true. It's my mecca - when I come home from there I have this whole new clarity. I say it's the place where my life began because where I met my husband, it's where I decided to go to FSU, it's where I decided that there are good things in life worth fighting for. 

What are three things you absolutely can't live without?

Okay since Jen used the word "things" I am truly going to stick with things and not get all deep like I did in the first question. 

My three things....gosh, there is just so much to choose between! But after much consideration I decided I can't live without chapstick, hair detangler, and my naked palette. As I mentioned in my post reviewing these items here, they are the bomb. Go read my post for all the details!

Tell us something we don't know about you!

I am an absolute nut about my dogs. Seriously, they are my babies and if you mess with them you mess with me. 

 How did you get into blogging?

I wanted to talk. Like a lot. 

To be honest, I just wanted a place where I could talk about anything and everything my heart desired. Whether that be makeup, the latest and greatest shampoo, or my all time favorite dip. Also, I was driving my friends and family crazy with all the stuff I wanted to talk about ALLLLLL the time!

What do you do to stay creative?

See number one. BUT when I can't make it to my mecca - I get outside and work with my hands. Right now, my father-in-law and I are working on a garden together. To see it grow and turn into food brings such a cool joy. You can follow along the garden journey with me on my instagram!

• What are three things you absolutely can't live without?
 Hmmm… my Clarisonic for one. My skin would be such a mess without it. Netflix. Although that’s a love/hate relationship. (READ: I. GET. NOTHING. DONE.) The Graco swing we bought when Kendalynn was like a month old. THANK YOU GRACO. Thank you for making a miracle device. Kendalynn knocks out in like 10 mins or less.

• Who inspires you most?
I have always answered this question the same way, all twenty-two years of my life. But now it’s different. When you have a child, they inspire you the most. You want to do good, you want to be good. You want to give them everything and show them what being a great person is. But also, my mother inspires me. She raised my brother and I by herself all my life and we went through so many things, but just seeing the way she lived life and how she made sure to provide for us, makes me feel like I can do anything.

• Tell us something we don't know about you!
A lot of people don’t know what I was a dancer on the drill team in high school. I was totally the opposite from everyone. Girly, yes, but my love for black will never die. Black nails, black clothes, black purse, etc. I’m still that way. I listened to different music, hung out with different people, and just was different all around. That didn’t stop me from doing something I love. Dancing. I love to dance. I haven’t in a long time, but I definitely want to do mommy and me ballet classes when Kendalynn gets old enough. If she wants to, that is. (I am really crossing my fingers though.)

• What do you do to stay creative?
 It sounds so weird, but the times I come up with some of my best ideas are when I am just sitting in the car looking out the window, watching tv but not really watching (you know what I mean, you do it too), or when I am laying in bed, falling asleep. Don’t you hate that? But it’s true, that’s when the ideas flow. Sometimes I will put them in my notes section on my iPhone, or sometimes I even draw sketches of stuff on some apps I have. When I am stuck in a rut, I like looking through Pinterest through stuff, listening to music, and just browsing other blogs online.

• How did you get into blogging?

 It’s so weird when I think about this. I have been reading peoples blogs for a long time, without even thinking about the fact that they’re a ‘blogger’ or what it even means to be a blogger. I’d look up something like “How to fill in eyebrows” or something random and I would find stuff on blogs, bookmark it, sign up by email, or stalk the page really (guilty of still doing it.) Or when I was getting married I would search through stuff, too. Then I got pregnant and wanted to keep an online scrapbook, and what better way to do that than blogging? I starting writing about Kendalynn, which led to the story of my husband and I, which led to my DIY wedding. Then I got the idea of just posting all the DIY stuff I do, because I did a lot. Now it’s a hot mess of everything, lol. Blogging just sort of happened. It wasn’t even planned to be honest.
